Photographic tour - visit to 100 Bishopsgate
As a practice, we’re always eager to see how our buildings are getting on, so in that spirit, Derek Hayn, Graphic Designer at AFK recently visited 100 Bishopsgate with his camera, accompanied by a couple of architects for a whistle-stop tour of the building.
100 Bishopsgate is a commercial office building in the City of London, and a collaboration with our peers Allies and Morrison for clients Brookfield Properties. Just a stone's throw from our studio in East London, the building wraps around a prominent corner plot on Bishopsgate and rise up some 40 storeys.
The building has spectacular views, including the ones seen in these photographs from the 34th floor, due in part to the floor to ceiling glazing and column free spaces. Another highlight shown here is the impressive marble-clad core in the lobby, which is made up of many individual marble panels arranged so that the grain of the stone flows effortlessly across the surface and it appears as if it was hewn from a solid block.
This tour is intended as the first in a series which looks to capture all of our buildings through the various stages of construction to completion and in use. These short visual snippets are a creative way to share insights and the different narratives of our work, and the architecture in progress. We hope to share more of these site visits with you soon!
